Rancho Santa Fe resident Frederick W. Pierce IV is the CEO and president of Pierce Education Properties (PEP), a national student housing ownership and operating company.
Pierce has established PEP as one of the leading student housing buyers and operators in the country, with a market value of nearly $800 million. PEP’s student apartment portfolio consists of nearly 20,000 beds.
“Student housing has been the best kept secret in real estate investment nationally,” Pierce stated. “All students need a place to live while in college or grad school. Add to this the tremendous rise of international students traveling to the United States from all over the world to receive an American education and our communities’ occupancy and income is secure year-after-year.”
Pierce was named one of the “Student Housing Pioneers” by Real Estate Forum (2013), received Ernst & Young’s San Diego Region “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award for the Real Estate & Construction Industry (2012), and was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Monty Award from San Diego State University’s (SDSU) College of Business Administration.
