The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation will host its annual Discovery Gala on July 15 at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa at 5480 Grand Pacific Drive in Carlsbad.

“Discovery Gala 2017 – Clue, The Mysteries of Agua” is the foundation’s major fundraising event of the year. It will benefit the foundation’s award-winning educational program as well as help to preserve and care for the lagoon.

The event begins at 6 p.m. According to the foundation, “Attendees will become expert sleuths as they mingle and mix with the mystifying and somewhat nefarious characters of Clue including Mrs. White, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green and Miss Scarlet.  The whodunit of an evening will play out just like the game with visits to the billiards room, the library, the kitchen, the dining room and the ballroom!

“For an additional sum, attendees may enter the ‘mansion’ at 5 p.m. and enjoy a cocktail hour with appetizers and many more mysteries.  Festivities also include a 100 item silent auction; scrumptious multi-course dinner and a live auction.”

This year’s gala, presented by Tri-City Medical Center, will honor several organizations that promote kindness throughout the community including the Carlsbad Educational Foundation, Tip Top Meats/European Deli, With Me Always, Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad, The Lund Team, Kids for Peace/The Great Kindness Challenge, Rotary International, Moonlight Cultural Foundation and Carlsbad Charitable Foundation.

The cost is $175 for members or $225 for potential members. Reservations may be made at or by calling 760-804-1969.
