Authorities offer reward for information on Oceanside homicide

Authorities announced a $3,000 reward today for information about a North County homicide that has gone unsolved for 10 months.

Late on the afternoon of Nov. 19, Joseph Prince, 32, stopped to greet a friend while riding his bicycle in the 100 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Oceanside.

As the two were conversing, a stocky man with short brown hair approached and got into an argument with Prince, then stabbed him in the chest and fled on a black “beach cruiser” bicycle, according to police. Prince died at the scene.

The assailant was described as a roughly 5-foot-9-inch, 200-pound white or Hispanic man in his 30s or early 40s.

The victim’s family is offering a $2,000 reward in addition $1,000 previously posted by San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
