Oceanside man killed in motorcycle collision

An Oceanside man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle and he became pinned underneath it, according to police.

The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Cassidy Street and Broadway Street, Sgt. Rick Davis said.

Michael Bisone, 52, was riding a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle heading eastbound on Cassidy Street at what witnesses described as a high rate of speed, when he struck a 1964 Ford that was heading northbound on Broadway Street and had pulled out from a stop sign, Davis said.

Oceanside police officers who were first on scene began performing life- saving measures on Bisone before paramedics arrived. Bisone was taken by ambulance to Tri-City Medical Center where died, according to Davis.

The driver of the Ford was interviewed on scene and released. Based on the initial investigation, it was unknown if alcohol was a factor in the collision. It appears that speed may have been, Davis said.
