Sheriff’s Department seeks help with Walmart theft

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help to identify two women who stole two widescreen TVs from the Encinitas Walmart store on Feb. 25 without paying for them.

Surveillance footage released by the department shows the two women entering the store and walking out with the two TVs in a shopping cart.

“Someone out there knows who they are,” the department said in a news release. The video can be seen here.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the theft happened around 6:00 p.m. at the Walmart in the 1500 block of Leucadia Boulevard. “The women walked out of the store with two Samsung 55-inch televisions in a shopping cart,” according to the release. “No attempt was made to pay for the televisions, which are valued at around $1,600.

“If you recognize the suspects, call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.

“Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.”
